Crude Steel Rises

World Steel Association announced crude steel production increases across 66 countries in 2009. As of November 2009, steel production rose 24.2% year over year to 107.5 million tons.

November 2009 proved to be an impressive crude steel production month. China crude steel numbers marked 47.3 million tons, which marked a 37.4% rise from same time in 2008. Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey also produced higher crude steel compared to the prior year.

The United States reported 6 million tons of crude steel production in October 2009, which marks a 26.9% compared to last year.
